This is one of the first New York City photos I ever took 7 years ago. It was shot with a broken camera after a summer rainstorm. ⛈ I was dirt poor and had just moved down to the Lower East Side and I wanted to capture a feeling; that feeling in that moment - what it felt like being soaked by the rain only minutes prior only to see the sun kiss the buildings. 🌇 It felt like there was a glimmer of hope even though my life was full of heartache. It’s not the most technically perfect photo but it’s one of my favorites because I look at it and I am transformed back to Orchard Street with my broken camera and a heart full of bittersweet hope to cling to with tired fingers. 📸 (if you missed it - I shared my story on video yesterday here: bit.ly/vivpeanut ) (at New York, New York)
